  • Recoveries are counted only for forwards.

Overall percentile

  • It is the number near to the name (99).
  • It shows what % of other players were worse than this specific player (Elias Pettersson) at his position (forwards / defensemen) in the selected season.
  • Also be aware before overall percentile. We always say that no model can say how specific player was good or bad by one number.
  • The best way to analyze a player is to look at ‘Offense’ & ‘Transition’ & ‘Defense’ apart.
  • ‘Transition’ is NOT includes in ‘Overall’. As we have no transition data until 2019 – 2020 season, we decided to not include them there. This means we could use the same formula for every season.

Offense

  • ‘Offense’ value (98) includes individual & on-ice & relative stats from 5-on-5 situation. Every stat has its own weight.
  • Offensive Impact includes: Relative to teammates goals for per 60 & Relative to teammates expected goals for per 60. Both stats have different weights.
  • Point Production includes: Goals per 60 & Primary assists per 60 & Secondary assists per 60. All stats have different weights.
  • Shooting includes: Goals per 60 & Goals above expected per 60. Both stats have different weights.
  • Passing includes: Primary assists per 60 & Secondary assists per 60. Both stats have different weights.

Transition

  • ‘Transition’ value (91) includes every stat which you can see below. Every stat is from only 5-on-5 & has its own weight.
  • Shot Contribution includes: Individual shot attempts per 60 & Primary shot assists per 60. Both stats have same weights.
  • High-Danger Chances per 60.
  • High-Danger Assists per 60.
  • Carries include: Carries per 60 & Successful carries %. Both stats have different weights.
  • Entry Passes per 60.
  • Possession Exits include: Possession exits per 60 & Controlled exits %. Both data have different weights.
  • Denials include: Denials per 60 & Denial %. Both stats have different weights.
  • Recoveries per 60. Counted only for forwards.

Defense

  • ‘Defense’ value (83) does NOT include denials neither recoveries. It includes individual (takeaways & blocks) & on-ice & relative stats. Every stat is from only 5-on-5 (apart PK) & has its own weight.
  • Defensive Impact includes: Relative to teammates goals against per 60 & Relative to teammates expected goals against per 60. Both stats have different weights.

Other

  • Powerplay is not included in total ‘Offense’ neither ‘Overall’ value. Goals per 60 & Primary assists per 60 & Secondary assists per 60 & Individual expected goals per 60 & Three relative stats for per 60. All stats have different weights.
  • Penalty Kill is not included in total ‘Defense’ neither ‘Overall’ value. Blocks per 60 & Three relative stats against per 60. All stats have different weights.
  • Penalties Drawn per 60 at 5-on-5. They are not included in total ‘Offense’ neither ‘Overall’ value.
  • Penalties Taken per 60 at 5-on-5. They are not included in total ‘Defense’ neither ‘Overall’ value.
  • Role Difficulty includes: Quality of Teammates & Quality of Competition & Defensive Zone Starts. All stats have different weights.
